I’ve already started planning the details of a book tour after releasing my investigative memoir, Because: A CIA Coverup and a Son’s Odyssey to Find the Father He Never Knew, on June 15 (Father’s Day), 2025. Brenda and I plan to travel in a small RV from Florida to Maine next summer and fall. In each city we plan to visit, I’m attempting to contact the local independent bookstore that is willing to provide the books and/or host a reading/signing event, as well as get the contact information for local newspapers, radio/TV stations, American Legion and VFW posts, public libraries, and yes, even Episcopal and other churches. This planning project is turning into a full-time job, but I feel compelled to set the record straight about the life and death of a man, as one of my endorsers states, who “stood up for ethical conduct in the face of serious resistance.” Given current affairs, this story should be a timely and appropriate topic. I’m glad I’m retired and will have fewer farm chores this fall and winter. A publicist would want a fortune for what I’m doing.
